Does Culture Affect Farmer Willingness to Transfer Rural Land? Evidence from Southern Fujian, China

This research explored the impact of culture on farmer willingness to transfer rural land. Data from 30 interviews and 537 valid survey questionnaires were collected in three villages Zhangzhou, Fujian, China that are representative typical Southern Fujian culture. First, a qualitative analysis was conducted based interview data using NVivo11. Thereafter, quantitative structural equation modeling completed. The results field indicated cultural, economic, individual factors main influences farmers Cultural further classified into folk, religious, language, family cultures. Religious belief had significant negative land, while family, folk cultures positive associations with land intentions. It found influence findings will help developing more comprehensive theoretical framework for this topic.
